- Project Accounting (or shoebox accounting): This is where we bring your bookkeeping back from the brink.
We use QuickBooks with all our clients, preferring to keep the file at our end to ensure security and ease of access, but we can log in remotely to work on your file. QuickBooks Desktop is the preferred software for ease of use and robust reports but we also use QuickBooks Online.
How to Prepare for your Bookkeeper
We expect timely and regular access to statements and source work, either report access or sent PDF monthly. We expect honesty. We expect to be paid on time for our services. We hope that you have a good working relationship with your Accountant and that we can communicate planning, adjustments, closed books, etc. like adults. We expect you to learn how to make your business more efficient and be a good student doing so.
Our Bookkeeper’s Promise to You
You can expect that we’ll be looking for the previous month’s statements within days of the start of the month. You can expect honesty and diligence in our work. You can expect to receive a short Question & Answer e-mail or communication each month for any unclear transactions. You can expect a monthly set of reports to help review your business and you can expect to learn how to use those reports if you don’t already. You can also expect help with the year-end filing of 1099’s.
For Payroll: We can recommend a professional payroll service provider. You don’t want to do your own payroll and there are companies that do this more efficiently and effectively than you or us.
For Tax Preparation: We can recommend professional tax preparers – CPA’s and EA’s – to work on the final tax prep.
